Floor-Masta is an exceptionally though, water proof coating for use on floors of all descriptions such as:

Floor-Masta leaves a smooth, matt, non slip, finish.

Floor-Masta can be applied to a gloss finish as well.

Floor-Masta will withstand the most abrasive environment without showing signs of wear for a very long time.

Floor-Masta comes in a variety of colours such as shades of green, blue, red, grey, yellow, black and white.

Floor-Masta can be applied by brush, roller or spray applicators.

Floor-Masta can be activated with a special algae inhibiting chemical, thus enabling the dried Floor-Masta to prevent a broad spectrum of Algae from growing on the surface.

Floor-Masta is resistant to a wide variety of acids.

Surface preparation

The substrate should be clean dry and stable.

Crack filling

Hairline cracks where the substrate is stable can be ignored. The Floor-Masta can be coated over the crack and will cover appropriately.

Where the cracks are larger, they should be opened with the corner of a chisel and filled with a mixture of Floor-Masta powder, Silica, which is obtainable from Cosmo-Dec and the liquid supplied with Floor-Masta to a moist paste suitable for filling. This should be smoothed over once dry with a bit of rough sand paper to make for a professional look.

If the substrate consists of a cement and sand topping make sure there are no loose sections. This can be ascertained by tapping the entire substrate with a hard object like a broom handle etc. A hollow sound will indicate the presence of a substrate area that may fail in due course. This needs to be attended to and not ignored and painted directly over.

Do not fill cracks with any bitumen product or use any bitumen as a primer or undercoat. It's not called Bitchumen for nothing.

Crack filling in detail

With a chisels edge, screw driver or other sharp metal edge, open the crack in a “V” shape about 10 mm wide and 10 mm deep.

Brush away loose dirt. Make sure the surface is clean and dry.

Mix 1 part of powder with one part of silica and about one quarter part of the white liquid plastic to make a paste.

Work, with the spatula provided, this paste into the opened crack. Smooth over with the spatula. Allow to dry (About 30 minutes)

With the sand paper provided sand down the dried paste to provide a smooth surface flush with the surrounds.

Apply 2 coats of Floor-Masta paint mixture (2 powders to one liquid by volume) over the treated crack one at a time allowing drying

time in between.

Treating a large crack where the substrate is weak.

Proceed as with the larger crack above up the point where you have smoothed over the dried paste with sand paper.

Cut a piece of membrane from the roll provided about 100 mm longer than the crack.

Mix some Floor-Masta paint mixture (2 powders to one liquid by volume) and paint a thick coating as wide and as long as the

membrane you’ve just cut over the repaired crack. Whilst the Floor-Masta paint is wet, stick the membrane over the repaired crack

into place using the Floor-Masta as an adhesive. Iron out all the folds and bubbles in the membrane. Paint 2 coats of Floor-Masta

paint mixture over the entire membrane that has been stuck in place, allowing for drying time between coats.

Mixture

Add two parts of powder to one part of liquid by volume, mix well and apply.

Floor-Masta has a pot life of about one hour so only mix enough for small batches at a time. Be sure to mix exactly the same amounts every time.

Floor-Masta is a washable, acid resistant, abrasion resistant, impact resistant etc.

Coverage

Floor-Masta will cover from about 2 to 3 square meters per kg per coat depending on the substrate.

The surface needs to be clean and dry before applying Floor-Masta. Floor-Masta is miscible in water therefore equipment can be washed in ordinary tap water.

Mixed Floor-Masta can be thinned with ordinary water.

The dried applied Floor-Masta mixture has few known solvents.

Colours: Red, green, grey, blue, black, brown, mustard and white.
