Product information

Dux Plaster Additive comes pre-tinted to various colours, added at 3% by mass to ordinary wall plaster

(Rock crystal) mix making an extraordinary pool and underwater plaster.

Rock crystal/cement plaster (Wet) weighs 2 tons per cubic meter.

Therefore; For every litre of (Rock crystal) plaster add 60 ml of liquid additive.

Rock crystal is far harder than marble “sand” or dust, as it is sometimes referred to as, impermeable as opposed to the porosity of pool plaster, making it practically impossible to stain, discolor, disintegrate, roughen, soften, leak, hold algae, is far longer lasting, many times less expen$ive, and frankly the only sensible solution to plaster a pool.

Using white cement in pool plaster has significant draw backs, it is far more expensive by a factor of three or four, has far less strength, and lacks the compressive tension of regular Portland, and a more rapid setting period often leading to practical disadvantages.

Our product provides the plaster with colour as well as waterproofing and superior strength.

Use Dux Plaster Additive to waterproof your plaster for permanently submersed applications, giving better adhesion and added flexibility.

This pre-tinted swimming pool plaster additive contains algae preventative chemicals and biocides, slow release sun block additives and pool clarifiers. Assisting greatly with keeping pools and also pool water cleaner and healthier.

Silica based pool plaster ( Rock crystal) with Dux additive is less expensive than plasters that use white cement and marble dust, more resilient, abrasive resistant and far harder than Marblite or regular pool plasters and provide other substantial advantages.

Moreover, building plaster is widely available anywhere, anytime, compared to pool plaster, which in any case is “Unavailable” from time to time, even in the largest cities, just ask contractors, without having to transport that heavy product from specialist stores to distant locations saving huge amounts on transport. A bucket (20 kg`s) of Dux Plaster Additive treats a half a ton of plaster.  Reducing your transport costs by a factor of 17, which transport costs can exceed the cost of the pool plaster by anything from 30% to 90%.

This technology is a “first of its kind” in swimming pool surfacing and is patented.

For making pool plaster with silica sand, (Rock crystal) regular plaster sand or bagged mixed obtainable from most hardware and building material outlets substitute 15% of the water mixture, which is 20% of the weight of dry plaster mix, with Dux Plaster Additive.

For a pool of Approximately 75 sq. M surface area, use 2 x 20 litre containers of Dux Plaster Additive for a plaster thickness of 12 mm.

For a plaster thickness of 6 mm use 1 x 20 litre Dux additive.

Recommended thickness is 12 mm.

Frankly though, being far superior in every manner, a thinner layer of Rock crystal/silica plaster will do anything a thicker layer of pool plaster will do, and more, saving more.

Surface preparation

The substrate should be clean, dry and stable before applying Dux infused plaster.

Application

Apply by trowel to a thickness of 6 to 12 mm. Allow the plaster to dry properly and cure by wetting with a light spray daily for a week or two before filling the pool. Fill through the weir or by placing a bucket under the spout. Don`t let water fall or flow directly onto the new plaster.
