MAKEUP AND COMPOSITION
Fire-Guard™ is a milky blue fluid with low viscosity, and dries to a clear finish.
The product should not be visible or leave any shine when it is dry unless our Seal-Bond additive is utilized.
Thatch, grass as well as cape reed.
Timber, bamboo, gum poles and also wood.
MDF board, chip board, Masonite as well as ply wood.
Palm leaves and also reeds.
For hard fibrous surfaces that have been treated or sealed we supply a semi-gloss sealant that is mixed into the Fire-Guard™ thatch fire retardant prior to application.
The surface must be clean and dry before the application of Fire-Guard™, free from dust, dirt as well as grime.
Treat surfaces on both sides if possible.
Our accredited thatch fire retardant chemical emits no fumes to speak of, thus indoor applications can be done without ventilation equipment.
Apply Fire-Guard™ by spray, roller and also brush.
In the case of new thatch grass, this can be soaked in a bath of Fire-Guard™ for a few minutes before being allowed to dry for an hour.
Wash equipment with water as well as soap if desired.
Coverage
Fire-Guard™ covers, from 2 to 7 square meters per liter, depending on the surface type.
However, on thatch the spread rate is 1 to 4 square meters per liter.
For soaking applications use 1,5 to 2 liters per square meter.
