Earth-seal™ is a granular/powder combination of minerals designed to seal and also waterproof soil of any nature very effectively by mixing the product with the soil, and then compacting.
When Earth-Seal™ is mixed into soil in this way, and after water contacts the mixture, a complex reaction takes place, making the soil and Earth-Seal™ mixture a very effective waterproof layer.
You can also apply Earth-Seal™ directly on top of the water, around the edges and into the middle of the dam.

Use 5KG’s – 10KG’s of our eco-friendly sealer for earth dams per square metre of soil depending on the soil type as well as the slope of the land.
Areas that receive higher rainfall will also require more compacting than dryer areas.
METHOD 1.
1. Scarify or plough area to a depth of 100 – 150mm.
2. Remove all foreign material such as stones, rocks, rubble as well as roots.
3. Then, the scarified soil is raked or smoothed and all clods are broken.
4. Moisture content of prepared soil is to be about 14%
5. Mark checker board style grid over entire area in 1 meter squares.
6. Into each square place 5 – 10kg`s of Earth-Seal™ powder.
7. Using a suitable implement such as a disc plough or pitch fork, plough the Earth-Seal™ into the soil, by riding up and down and then cross ways.
8. Compact this mixture and check for any imperfections as well as undertreated areas that may need more product.
Hand pack embankments or steep sides with a mixture of Earth-Seal™ and soil at a ratio of about 1 part by volume of Earth-Seal™ to 5 parts by volume of suitable moist compactable soil.
In addition, protect inlets and outlets with stone packing on top of the prepared soil.
In the event of protection being needed for the compacted layer, a loose bed of gravel can also be spread over the entire area to a depth of 100mm.
METHOD 2.
If you know where the area of the existing leak is. Then cast 10 to 20 kg`s of Earth-Seal™ for every 2 square meters onto the surface of the water directly above the suspected leaking area.
Repeat this if the leak does not stop immediately.
Moving water draws Earth-Seal™ into the fissure and creates an effective plug.
Use this method for hard surface dams, reservoirs as well as pools.
